We're in it together

Active Ageing Forum

The Active Ageing Forum is a growing network composed of community volunteers and over 150 organisations from a range of sectors and services across Gloucestershire all of whom are passionate about increasing opportunities for older people to become more physically active in their local area.

As well as disseminating information on local insight, funding and training opportunities, the Active Ageing Forum provides voluntary and community organisations, charities, health professionals and facility providers with the chance to network and build relationships with local, likeminded partners and develop new and exciting opportunities for older people to take part in sport and physical activity programmes.

The Active Ageing Forum is free to attend and will usually take place over half a day, every six months, at a relatively central location within the county. The forum follows a format of key note speakers, updates about national policy and physical activity data, networking sessions, sharing sessions, round table discussions and stands for service providers. Running alongside the main forum are smaller local district working groups which also meet every six months.

The next Active Ageing Forum will take place in April 2018 (date and venue to be confirmed). Notes and slides from the October 2017 forum are available in the resources box.

The local district working group meetings will take place during early February 2018(dates and venues to be confirmed).
