Welcome to Active Gloucestershire.

Active Gloucestershire is an independent charity with a vision for everyone in Gloucestershire to be active everyday.

We have a key responsibility for increasing physical activity levels across Gloucestershire and are an agent of change, uniting individuals and a huge range of national policy makers and organisations around one of the greatest challenges facing our society today: inactivity.

We want to inspire, connect and enable people in Gloucestershire to get active in a way that works for them, and we want to support those who can help others move more, like activity providers, sports clubs and key partners in the county. We do this through we can move – Gloucestershire’s social movement that brings people together from across the sports and physical activity sector, public sector of voluntary and community sector.

We all work together to help people benefit from a more active lifestyle.

We can move

Co-ordinated by Active Gloucestershire, we can move is a social movement designed to get more people active in the county.

  • About us

Being active should be normal and easy. We look at barriers to being active and use campaigns to encourage people to try something new. We ask people to spot things that need to change and highlight their achievements so that they can inspire and be a champion to others.

  • Our impact

Our work develops by learning from what has and hasn’t worked before. We use independent research, and commission our own. We listen to people and organisations in the county. Our aim is to have a real and measurable impact on the lives of people in Gloucestershire.

  • Our team

Let’s talk! We work with many groups and organisations across Gloucestershire, from schools to networks that support older adults. We also do valuable work helping find funding and assist people and organisaations to change where they live, so that more people can be active.
