Daily Mile co-ordinator

We are looking to appoint a versatile individual who believes in the value of getting people active, to fulfil this new post within Active Gloucestershire.
The position is funded by Sport England & supported by The Daily Mile Foundation.
You can expect an exciting role, including visiting different areas of the county and facilitating new relationships with school leadership teams and other key partners, whilst project managing our Daily Mile programme across the county. The Daily Mile is an important part of our countywide Gloucestershire Moves programme and you will be expected to develop links and relationships and share learning where appropriate.
You will be responsible for promoting and supporting the growth of The Daily Mile within schools across Gloucestershire. The co-ordinator will also liaise with other individuals working in similar roles across England, to strengthen the vision and blueprint of The Daily Mile strategy.
The co-ordinator will work closely with The Daily Mile Foundation to maintain the quality assurance of the project and its values and will create an environment of trust and collaboration so that schools, partners and stakeholders see the benefit of implementing The Daily Mile.
Reporting to the physical activity specialist for children and young people, you will have experience of working with school leadership teams, possess excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to demonstrate a successful track record of project management and have good knowledge of health or education sectors.
To qualify….you could be a senior project officer / have held a middle leadership position within an educational establishment or similar with a CV that demonstrates:
- experience of engaging school senior leadership teams;
- project management experience across a number of projects;
- an understanding of the barriers and enablers to physical activity, especially within a school environment;
- experience of managing finances and budgets;
- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- the ability to manage multiple priorities, troubleshoot and meet deadlines;
- the ability to develop effective relationships and partnerships with a range of organisations and
- a personal commitment to the vision and values of Active Gloucestershire.
Due to the nature of the role you will need to have a full UK driving licence or the ability to get around the county.
