Child Protection Policy and Procedures for Sport
Active Gloucestershire aims to provide clear guidelines for its staff and partners working with children. This is to ensure that safe, equitable and enjoyable activities are delivered by coaches, sports development staff and all of Active Gloucestershire’s partners in line with the Standards for Safeguarding and Protection Children in Sport. The well-being of all the young people who engage in any activity provided by Active Gloucestershire is of paramount importance and central to the Partnership’s coaching activity. To this end, Active Gloucestershire has produced policy guidelines and support materials to ensure safe working practices in sport and physical activity across Gloucestershire. These have been generated in conjunction with Sport England and local agencies in an ongoing process. This includes the identification of nominated staff in each sporting club or centre and training for administrators, coaches and other volunteers.
The Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy sets out standards that recognise the rights, dignity and self-worth of every young participant and that the delivery of its coaching activities both fully endorses and respects these rights throughout the delivery system.
