Welcome to our Christmas edition. News has just reached us if an early Christmas present for the Forest of Dean of an ‘Off Road Cycling’ which will be a great edition for tourism and local residents. Congratulations to One South West on securing this initiative.
As the festive season approaches it is timely to pause and reflect on where we all are. My colleagues and I never fail to be impressed by the sustained efforts of so many people and organisation to help increase peoples participation in sport and physical activity. Without this we would be nowhere so long may it continue.
More soberly we have to recognise that the world is very different to twelve months ago. People have less money to spend and organisations are faced with major budget and service reductions so there can be little doubt that just holding onto what we have got is going to be very challenging. Working together and sharing efforts and resources will be even more important and we can celebrate the fact that in Gloucestershire we have a long history of strong partnerships doing just that.
All the very best to you and yours for the festive season and happy New Year.
Best Wishes,

Chief Executive Officer
