Gloucestershire Activity Inclusion Network
In July 2008 an open evening was held at the University of Gloucestershire, Oxstalls Campus to discuss the development and launch of a Gloucestershire Disability Sport and Physical Activity Network.
The event was co-ordinated by the Network steering group which had representatives from GFA (Gloucestershire Football Association), Stroud District Council, Cheltenham Harriers, Oxstalls Springers Trampolining Club, Active Gloucestershire and the University of Gloucestershire. It was decided that the title 'Gloucestershire Activity Inclusion Network' accurately reflected the aims of bringing together local authorities, local community groups, and members of the public
The core objective of GAIN is to find ways of enhancing and improving sport and physical activity opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
