Gloucestershire Sports Awards 2009

Cheltenham athlete James Brewer has been crowned the Sports Personality of the Year 2009 in the Gloucestershire Media Sports Awards.

He was one of 11 winners to be honoured for their services to sport in the county at a presentation dinner at Cheltenham Racecourse.

• Disability Sports Person of the Year: Simon Laurens (dressage)
• Official of the Year: Roy Taylor
• Junior Club of the Year: Forest of Dean Gymnastics Club
• Senior Coach of the Year: Lynn Hammersley
• Junior Team of the Year: Gloucester City Winget Cricket Club Under 17s
• Teacher of the Year: Julian Ralph
• Outstanding Services to Sport: Carolyn Franks
• Young Coach of the Year: Shona Corbett
